Twin Cities Tumblr Meetup: Fourth Edition!

Where? Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge and Tiki Garden.
When? Saturday April 17th @ 4 PM.
Who? Why you, of course! If you’re under 21 that’s fine, but you’ve got to go back to your parent’s house after 9 PM because that’s when they start carding.
How? Please RSVP on the meetup page. All that’s left is bringing your badass self to Suzi’s.

Questions? Shoot me an email.

Please spread the word!

I saw this in my Google Reader and lamented that I’d like a similar list for MSP, and low and behold, Reader provided a few articles later.

People of the Twin Cities! We must settle this at once. A vote!

tumblelikeyougiveadamn:

There’s a movement afoot to rebrand our fair cities with a nickname so derivative and base that I can’t bring myself to type it more then once. It’s TWINCY. There, I did it.

It saddens me that my friend and collaborator Chuck Terhark is the one who brought this abomination into existence, and also that my friend Taylor Carik was so quick to support it. But if this is the sort of thing that must end friendships and pit brother against brother and sister against sister, so be it.

I propose a vote, right here, right now. No need to propose alternatives, a simple “Yay” or “Nay” will do. So what say you, fine residents of Minneapolis and St. Paul? Reblog or get in touch with your vote, I’ll keep tabs of the tally here:

Nay Votes: Myself, Andy Sturdevant, Diana Dominguez, Paul Schmelzer, Minus Manhattan, Katherine Marie, Erin Schumacher, Josh From Minneapolis, Troy Gallas, Astrid

Yay Votes: Chuck Terhark, Taylor Carik

Voting ends at 5pm tomorrow. Your vote is important, it’s only our reputation on the line.

UPDATE: Chuck is making his closing arguments over at METRO Magazine. I recommend you at least hear him out. A real Democracy can only exist with an informed public.

UPDATE: I’ve just turned commenting on for easier voting.

As much as a respect Chuck and Taylor, I must, in good conscience, vote Nay.
