Finding its roots in one of my favorite movies of all time, The Big Lebowski, Dudeism is a “religion” everyone can get behind:
The idea is this: Life is short and complicated and nobody knows what to do about it. So don’t do anything about it. Just take it easy, man. Stop worrying so much whether you’ll make it into the finals. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda and whether you roll strikes or gutters, do your best to be true to yourself and others - that is to say, abide.

“Pastor Ed Kalnin, the senior pastor of Palin’s former Pentecostal church, has also come under fire for his comments. In 2004, he told church members if they voted for John Kerry for president, they wouldn’t get into heaven. He told them, “I question your salvation.” The Assembly of God issued a statement online in response, which said Kalnin was “joking” when he suggested “Kerry supporters would go to hell.”
