Today is September 2, 2010. That’s right; the date is actually 90210. To celebrate this auspicious occasion, I direct your attention to the video above, which depicts The Flaming Lips playing “She Don’t Use Jelly” on the March 1, 1995 episode of “Beverly Hills 90210.” An infamous television appearance indeed.
I remember when this aired, and I remember being bummed that one of my favorite bands appeared on this train-wreck of show. A couple of seasons before this one my friends and I in college had started a 90210 drinking game.
“Everyone, drink a shot, the Flaming Lips are playing the Peach Pit.”

what I liked about e. e. cummings
was that he cut away from
the holiness of the
word
and with charm
and gamble
gave us lines
that sliced through the
dung.how it was needed!
how we were withering
away
in the old
tired
manner.of course, then came all
the
e. e. cummings
copyists.
they copied him then
as the others had
copied Keats, Shelley,
Swinburne, Byron, et
al.but there was only
one
e. e. cummings.
of course.one sun.
one moon.
one poet,
like
that.
The Fleet
I’ve got nine bikes (seven which are mine) sitting in my garage right now. Only like four of them are ridable, the fleet took a beating over the birthday weekend. The bigger question is: why do two people need seven bicycles?
Excellent news for a newly minted 40-year-old with a penchant for liquor!
Castro has a blog, and the two entries I just read scared the shit out of me.
